Gutter Part Terminology

1. Outside Miter - Is a fastener that connects two gutter sections on an outside corner
2. Gutter Protection/Cover - A cutter cover is fitted on top of the gutter, protecting the gutter from roof debris. Is designed to prevent damage caused from clogged gutters, and reduces the need for regular gutter cleaning.
3. Gutter Hanger - Is the piece that connects the gutter section to a home.
4. Gutter -  A gutter is the horizontal part that attaches to a home and collects the run off from the roof.
5. Inside Miter - Is a fastener that connects two gutter sections on an inside corner
6. Hidden Hanger - Is a piece that connects the gutter to the house and is installed inside the gutter system.
7. Strainer - Is a piece that connects to the downspout to prevent clogged downspouts.
8. End Cap - Is the piece of a gutter section that keeps debris from escaping the gutter.
9. Elbow - Is a piece that connects to the downspout to route runoff away from the home.
10. Hinge - Is an accessory piece that attaches to any square or rectangle downspout allowing the downspout to be turned into a hinge that can be tipped out of way for tasks such as mowing.
11. Splash Block - Is a concave piece placed on the ground below a downspout at a sloping angle to carry roof drainage away from a home.
12. Splash Guard – Keeps water from splashing over top of the gutter
13. Collector/Leaderhead - Collects run off water and diverts it to the sub-surface drainage system.
14. Drain Tile Adapter - is a piece that connects to the downspout and provides access to sub-surface drainage system.
15. PVC 90 - Is an 90 degree attachment that routes collected water through the sub-surface drainage system.
16. Outlet - is a piece that connects the gutter to the top of the downspout.
17. Downspout - A vertical gutter part that allows the runoff from the gutter to drain away from a home.
18. Downspout strap - Is a fastener that connects the downspout to a home.
19. Elbow - A piece that connects to the end or top of a downspout so water can drain away from a home.
20. Drain Tile - The sub-surface drainage piece that is designed to divert water into the ground.
21. Popup - designed to divert water away from a home.
